The ADIDAS CONSORTIUM x END. CLOTHING ZX 700 BOAT & NMD CHUKKA finds the Consortium World Tour stopping in Newcastle, this time with the legendary retailer, END.For their adidas Consortium collaboration, the team have picked two models: the ZX 700 Boat and NMD Chukka. The execution and materials on both take inspiration from the barren terrain of Saharan Africa, the 3.5 million square miles of undulating sand dunes which sprawl across the continent. Desert camouflage demilitarised, the ZX 700 Boat finds itself dressed in various shades of beige, with the materials – smooth leather and rough suede – mimicking the diverse surfaces found in arid landscapes. The NMD’s deep green colour, as well as its geometric, honeycombed upper are references to cacti, one of the few plants capable of growing and thriving in such desolate and challenging environments.
