[ 22.8.12 ART & SOLE ]

Art & Sole regular Toby Neilan has recently been in touch to let us know about his latest art project; a triptych of prints which use the colourways of the amazing Nike HTM Flyknit as inspiration…

First launched in January of this year, Nike Flyknit is a groundbreaking design technology, where footwear is created with a ‘knitted’ upper. Using yarns that are engineered to create a lightweight, form fitting and virtually seamless upper, the shoes have been designed to deliver great performance while reducing material waste. To help launch the project, Nike has been releasing an extremely limited selection of these shoes under the HTM banner (a collaboration between the creative minds of artist/designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, Air Max 1 designer Tinker Hatfield and Nike CEO Mark Parker), and so far there have been nine HTM Flyknit shoes released – three of which are the subject of Neilan’s artwork.
