size? 2020 Seasonal Previews Show London: Event Recap

The SIZE? 2020 SEASONAL PREVIEWS SHOW: LONDON celebrated the past, present and future of the standout trainer retailer as it reaches two decades in existence…

Established in 2000 as a trainer retailer servicing in London, Manchester, and Brighton with a bespoke selection of brands and pioneering product, size? has evolved over the past two decades, but its community-centric ethos to deliver curated footwear and apparel certainly remains. To mark size?’s milestone 20th-anniversary, the retailer celebrated with a preview show honouring its past, present, and future with a range of exclusive brand collaborations and an immersive exhibition.

Taking place at the White Rabbit Studios on a sunny day in Shoreditch, the anticipation was high with a queue forming of all ages and interests. Upon entry, guests were gifted a size? goodie bag and then left to freely observe the exhibition at their own pace. Spread over three rooms, the large space began with a timeline of all of the iconic size? collaborations throughout the last 20 years. Standout pairs included the SIZE? X NIKE DAVE WHITE PACK consisting of an Air Max 90, 95 and 1; as well as a special unreleased Air Max 90 that had fans of the silhouette wishing it had dropped. Moving along the timeline, the SIZE? X ADIDAS ORIGINALS ANNIVERSARY CITY SERIES showed off pairs such as the Dublin, Birmingham, and Cardiff. The exhibit also held the SIZE? X NIKE DAVE WHITE AIR MAX 95 PACK from 2016, including two of the sample pairs that didn’t make the cut for a final release, and the other recent collaborations, such as the NEW BALANCE 990V5 CORNERSHOP and the VANS OLD SKOOL PATCHWORK.

As visitors progressed into the next room, a variety of upcoming size? collaborations for first half of 2020 were on display. The most popular was a Nike Air Max 95 with colourful uppers drawing elements from all the Nike collaborations that size? have produced throughout the years. Also, on display was an adidas Superstar with a white and orange upper; a new variation of the upcoming New Balance 327 silhouette; and a combination of Vans to name but a few.

The final room was an immersive experience showcasing upcoming and existing talents in the scene ranging from designers, skaters, musicians, and stylists. A couple of standouts were skater and model and The Drop Date team member Cam Barr, stylist and designer and owner of @isle3archive Rob Boyd, and graphic designer Lucy Morris-Thomas who displayed some of her own book designs.
