PUMA have moved into the next stage of their TRINOMIC bringback crusade with the impending re-release of the XS850.
PUMA look to repeat the success of 2013’s revival of the XT1+ and XT2+ with the XS850, a closely related cousin created for use on the trail rather than asphalt. The emphasis in the model’s design is on flexibility and cushioning; to that end the plastic heel cup of the XTs is replaced with a softer foam, while the tough closed mesh is swapped out for Trinomic-patterened nylon. Being a shoe of 90s origin, the OG colourway of the XS850 unfailingly makes use of bright neon and abstract prints to great effect. There’s neon pink dabs on the midsole and on that soft ribbed back tab (that strongly reminds us of Barrett’s Foam Shrimps) while the splatter pattern that is unique to the XS850 adorns the heel panel. The signature Trinomic lace lock in the same pink finishes things up nicely on a well-timed and well-executed reissue.
Be sure to check the video below which documents the re-illustration of the shoe from an archive PUMA SS92 catalogue. The PUMA TRINOMIC XS850 is scheduled to start dropping on SATURDAY 15.3.14 with the confirmed list of UK stockists that can be found on the RELEASE PAGE via the link-through below.
