Rainbow Colours: NIKEiD Air Sock Racer OG

The NIKEID AIR SOCK RACER OG will fulfill all of your early summer needs, boasting a 90-deep colour palette on the brand’s customising platform.

After answering a million and one reissue prayers with its return in yellow and black early last month, the Nike Air Sock Racer OG just got added to the NIKEiD roster, making the mid-’80s innovator a whole lot more accessible.

Originally released over three decades ago, the stripped-back Sock Racer was light years ahead of other silhouettes on the shelves during its heyday. Designed by Tinker Hatfield in 1985, it was Nike’s first foray into a streamlined and minimal running shoe design, which helped throw open the doors to today’s readily available lightweight models. The pioneering release also replaced traditional lacing with a sock-fit, featuring a stretchy nylon polyester upper and two wraparound buckles for sheer convenience.

From citrus shades to pops of warm purple, pink, and blues – check some of the teased NIKEiD options below, and get set for a host more, as the amphibious silhouette is set to be available in a toppling 90 shades deep colour palette. The brand is promising an extra-special experience for the iD build for the Sock Racer, so hang tight for the release to see exactly what Nike have got up their sleeves for this one.

The NIKEID AIR SOCK RACER OG will be available to customise in over 90 colour options from 5 PM GMT on THURSDAY 4 MAY. Have a snoop at the builder beforehand by following the banner below.
