The Nike Air Max 1 first hit shelves in 1987, but still remains one of the most celebrated sneakers of all time. Using the classic Tinker Hatfield-designed AM1 as a blank canvas, the MAX100 project brings together the artwork of designer and illustrator Matt Stevens (creator of the MAX100 book) alongside Nike and the Social Status to benefit local charities where the shoes will be sold.
Each shoe is based off of previous artwork from Matt Stevens’ book. Only 10 pairs will be produced — each individually numbered and signed in a wooden box set features its own unique sample of Stevens’ art and book.
