NIKE X SIZE? AIR MAX 93 ‘METALS’ PACK – 30.5.14
SIZE? has had quite a lot to do with the AIR MAX 93, with its string of exclusive colour-ups helping to relaunch the big-bubbled trainer last year.
The newest editions, the ‘METALS’ PACK, takes the total number of Size? AM93 SMUs to a whopping eight, each one flying off the shelves as quick as the last. For their latest project, the UK-based retailer has drawn on some chemistry knowledge and extracted a colour palette inspired by ‘rare earth metals’, a group of elements that naturally occur in the Earth’s crust—that’s about as far as we go with the periodic table chat. What we do know is that this has resulted in two stonkingly-good makeups of this under-appreciated member of the Air Max family. The ‘Cool Grey’ colourway intersperses shades of grey and off-white suede and textured synthetic leather, while the ‘Burnt Red’ uses the aforementioned shade alongside pale khaki and copper brown. Both versions are finished with metallic jacquard toeboxes and white midsoles.
