A First Look: the Nike x Fragment Dunk High City Pack Returns for 2021

The rumours seem to be true: the memorable NIKE X FRAGMENT DUNK HIGH CITY PACK looks set to return this year, following much online speculation and discussion. First hinted at in fragment design head honcho Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Instagram posts at the start of the year, we’ve now got visual confirmation of the Beijing colourway (courtesy of @leaked.sneaks) – and we can see there are some clear differences in this year’s collection when compared to the original 2010 release.

Representing New York (Midnight Navy/Black), Beijing (Wine/Black), and London (Vivid Pink/Tour Yellow), the reversed/mismatched colour blocking across these three high top Dunks was a concept that turned heads on the street when it first dropped back in 2010. This year’s series looks to have dropped the mismatched element, arguably making the shoes a little more wearable perhaps, but still having those other eye-catching qualities that made the first series so appealing. A new design detail for this year’s release comes in the form of the classic fragment ‘code’ being applied to the midsole, as seen on previous collaboration projects between Hiroshi and Nike.
