Nike and Medicom Toy have been working together for eight years now and the Nike x Be@rbrick Lunar Force 1 joins the long list of some of the freshest, and most sort-after releases we’ve seen emerge in that time.
The white make-up pays respect to the original colourway of the partnerships first collaboration back in 2004, which started a regular flow of top draw SMU’s in to the market, albeit all pretty hard to get hold of due to their limited numbers and tight list of worldwide stockists. It started with the Nike Dunk Low Pro SB, a shoe that within four years had produced five excellent releases, with the gore-tex version from ’08 being our pick of the bunch, closely followed by the Black Denims from 2005.
In 2010 it was the turn of the Air Force 1, which was treated to a well-groomed faux fur upper in both white and black colourways, closely followed by the 10th Anniversary editions last year that carried on the fur theme, updated with premium leather swoosh and lining whilst continuing with the same consistent, subtle branding on the tongue and heel tabs. The Black version of the Lunar Force 1 pays homage to its equivalent from the 10th Birthday celebrations and works really well alongside the OG-inspired offering.
We’ve talked up the Lunar Force 1 a fair amount of late, and rightly so. Pairing up the Hyperfuse one-piece tech on the upper with the excellent Lunarlon sole unit, whilst managing to retain the infamous lines of the Air Force 1 means it’s a job well done, and bringing their trusted friends Medicom in to the mix means Nike are again on point with a release that is sure to have the resellers bunking off work to pick up their hype fix.
