NIKE SNEAKERBOOT COLLECTION 2014 is a fresh follow-up from the success of last year’s Sneakerboot series: footwear designed to deal with everything winter throws at your feet. The collection introduces new styles and transforms old favourites from running, basketball and training categories into ‘weatherised powerhouses’. This season the Nike Sneakerboot collection aims for three specific goals – warmth, visibility, and dryness. And, looking at this first batch of images, we think they’ve got it nailed.
There are six models due in this initial drop: the NIKE AIR MAX 90 SNEAKERBOOT, the NIKE LUNAR FORCE 1 SNEAKERBOOT, the NIKE LUNARFRESH SNEAKERBOOT, the bright orange NIKE LUNAR DOME SNEAKERBOOT (perhaps our favourite of this first batch!), and, to round off, the NIKE AIR TRAINER SC SNEAKERBOOT. Seeing old favourites getting the remix treatment can bring on feelings of confusion and skepticism, but Nike have continually proven themselves to do this with consideration and respect for the original design. And to any naysayers out there: just try wearing your vintage runners when the snow’s thick on the ground! If you want to avoid the snowboot route when it starts to get colder, then there aren’t many better alternatives around. As well as the three specific aims and the intriguing aesthetics, the construction looks faultless too.
Last year’s collection saw some very nice colourways across the range, so we’re expecting the same to happen this year: these first shoes have definitely set things off in the right direction again. The NIKE SNEAKERBOOT COLLECTION 2014 starts to hit the streets from the 15TH OCTOBER 2014 and you can preview the range on NIKE.com via the link-through below.
