The NIKE SB DUNK MID GRIFFEY finds baseball legend Ken Griffey Jr.’s Freshwater colour scheme being adopted by Nike’s Skateboarding division, with excellent results.

What can be said about the Dunk that hasn’t been communicated already? Long before it became one of the most visible shoes on the street, the Dunk was an established basketball icon. Through exploratory sessions, both the Dunk and the Jordan 1 established themselves in the early skate scene, thanks to reliable ankle support, comfortable sole units and durable leather uppers. Nike picked up on this and the Dunk became the lead shoe to launch the Nike SB collection. This mid-top edition is presented in blue and black suede uppers, reminiscent of the Freshwater Air Griffey Max 1: Griffey Jr.’s ’24’ number that is typically seen on the ankle strap has been replaced with the number ’58’ (a number last spotted on the Raygun Dunk release). As a final sign-off, the black midsole, tongue and inner section round things off perfectly.
