Available Now: the Nike Air Presto Origins Pays Tribute to the ‘T-Shirt for Your Feet’

Nike Air Presto Origins CJ1229-900

The NIKE AIR PRESTO ORIGINS pays tribute to the debut of the original Air Presto series back in 2000. At the time, the shoe’s release brought a bit of fun to the somewhat-serious footwear scene of the era, but the model’s back story, which began from initial conversations in Korea four years earlier, was serious business.

Back in early 2000, names and titles like ‘Shady Milkman’ and ‘Rogue Kielbasa’ might have read more like eccentric menu items rather than monikers for groundbreaking shoes, but that was before the Presto’s irreverent advertising campaign flipped expectations upside-down. Marketed as ‘The T-shirt for the Foot’, the mid-foot cage and external heel counter give the form some functional support, whilst a toe bumper provides protection and shape to the front of the shoe. Twenty years after its debut, the Presto returns, this time with the original graphics from the launch campaign displayed across the uppers, full-bleed style. We can’t think of a better, more fitting way to bring the old to the new.
