Nike follows their ‘banned’ AJ1 re-release with a new NIKE AIR MAX ZERO BRED that sports the same iconic black and red colour combo.

The original ‘Bred’ colourway famously fell foul of NBA regulations, causing Michael Jordan and Nike to be fined when it appeared on the basketball legend’s shoes back in 1985. Around the same time, Tinker Hatfield sketched out an Air Max design that was too futuristic to be manufactured. Fast forward to 2016 and it seems these two moments in Nike’s history have been combined: Hatfield’s forward-thinking sketches finally came to life as the Nike Air Max Zero, and now we’re treated to a new version that comes dressed in the much-loved ‘Bred’ colourway. Instead of the simple colour blocking of the Jordans, this new release sports a tow-tone black and red mesh upper with black Hyperfuse overlays, red tongue and Swoosh and a crisp white sole unit to tie the whole thing together.

The NIKE AIR MAX ZERO BRED is slated for release this autumn. Check back for full release details, and in the meantime shop the latest Air Max Zero colourways with NIKE by clicking on the banner below.
