The NIKE AIR MAX BREATHE COLLECTION is the perfect answer to the hot summer months. In the past, we’d have automatically reached for the Prestos to counteract the sweatier seasons, but with this new concept in aerodynamics and temperature control, there’s no need to swap the footwear selection. This set of three models sees some much-loved icons given a new coat of paint and a bit of positive reconstruction.
The first of the set NIKE AIR MAX 90 BREATHE is the newest innovation to the infamous 90 silhouette. With such a classic design, any approach to updating or redesigning the shoe usually has the connoisseurs up in arms. This version is a welcome addition to the family though: a minimal, clean upper with a no-sew construction and open mesh keeps things light on-foot. The natural motion tooling encourages maximum flexibility and the whole package looks great.
Next up is the NIKE AIR MAX 1 BREATHE, which is a perfect second piece of the puzzle, with an open mesh upper, soft heel counter and stay-put tongue (which will alleviate those pesky tongue yanks that some runners generate). There’s a special antimicrobial lining which will help eliminate the infamous ‘stinkfoot syndrome’, commonly associated with going sock-less in the hotter months too.
The NIKE AIR MAX LIGHT BREATHE closes off the series with a low-profile shoe perfect for sneaking around pool-side whilst on holiday. Factor in the same mesh uppers as the other two shoes and the ever-fresh antimicrobial lining and you’ve got another bangin’ summer shoe.
