The NIKE AIR MAX 90 CHICAGO sees the iconic model pay homage to America’s third largest city – the Windy City.
The release is given a predominantly muted colour palette, with two shades of grey dominating the upper, inspired by the Greystone architecture the city is famous for. A green lining features an ivy style print, which is a nod to Wrigley Field, Chicago’s baseball stadium, also known as the Friendly Confines. On the front of the labels on the tongue, which is redesigned with an additional overlay, are a Swoosh on the right foot and AM90 logo on the left, whilst the reverse features 312, Chicago’s area code, and CHI respectively. A crispy white midsole adds some stark contrast down below and ties in with the mudguard logo, which is actually not a logo at all, as it is instead given a smooth finish. As a real departure from the upper, the insoles go bold, with a Mild Sauce graphic that celebrates the city’s popular condiment. Rounding things off is an icy outsole, which reveals a design that features a print that pays homage to many of Chicago’s famous streets and locations. This release is full of great little touches that we reckon make it a little bit special.
