Nike Air Jordan 1 ‘Banned’ – A First Look

What can you say about the Nike AIR JORDAN 1 ‘BANNED’? It’s not just a Jordan 1: for most people, it’s THE Jordan 1. And we’re excited to say that it’s returning to the shelves shortly.

The retro of this original Air Jordan marks the return of one of the most controversial footwear releases in basketball history. Way back in 1985, the Air Jordan I left a permanent impression on the league. Over three decades later, the icon now returns alongside the modern Anti-Gravity Machines, known as the Air Jordan XXXI. For this latest reissue, the shoe stays true to its roots, constructed with premium leather in bold and aggressive black and red tones. The retro will feature Nike Air branding on the tongue – a detail in line with the original Air Jordan 1 – and removes the crosses from the heel that decorated the ‘Banned’ Jordan 1 release of 2011. In fact, from what we’ve seen so far, this 2016 release looks similar to the 2013 retro, which can only be a good thing.

The Nike AIR JORDAN 1 ‘BANNED’ is listed as ‘Coming Soon’ on the Nike SNKRS page, so keep checking back with us for the latest info on the release. In the meantime, click the banner below to check out the current Jordan selection at Nike.
