The NIKE AIR COMMAND FORCE was one of the shoes that seemed incredibly futuristic when it dropped back in ’91. A shoe that you could actually pump up? Bear in mind, that this predates many subsequent attempts for inflatable technology: it seemed mindblowing at the time. File alongside the Nike Air Pressure and you’ll immediately see the progression.
Take the tech out of the equation, and the styling of the Air Command Force is still unfallable. The shape says ‘don’t test me!’, with its slick toe shape, jagged midsole lines and fluorescent, speckled sections on the heel, it’s smart and aggressive at the same time. The 2014 retro includes all the elements that made the original a force to be reckoned with, including the return of the Air-Fit application and the heel valve cylinder to release pressure. It’s a towering high-top basketball beast that will have people moving out of the way whether you’re on the court or the street.
The NIKE AIR COMMAND FORCE will be available at select Nike Sportswear retailers from 18TH OCTOBER. Keep checking back for the full stockist info as soon as it’s available.
