Following up on their teaser earlier this week, NEW BALANCE have revealed further details about the upcoming C-SERIES PROJECT.
As we suspected, the ‘C’ here alludes to cycling, with NB launching reworked versions of some classic silhouettes specifically in order to cater to the needs of the casual cyclist. The aim here is to bridge the gap between lifestyle and functional footwear, with the idea being that this is a shoe to be worn throughout the day as well as on the commute home. Two models have been reengineered for this purpose: the M996, now the 996C, and the M620, renamed the 600C. Technical features on the latter include neoprene inner socks for a secure fit, 3M reflectivity for visibility, perforations for temperature control and stiffened sole units. The 996C is even more serious, with lace shrouds to accommodate toe clips and an incredible bike reflector ‘N’ logo that was developed especially for this shoe.
Both the 600C in black and grey, and the 996C from the NEW BALANCE C-SERIES will launch here in the UK & Europe on 22 JAN 2015. Hold tight for more details ahead of the drop!
