Tipping their hat to English manufacture again, NEW BALANCE drop the 576 MADE IN ENGLAND TEA PACK. Nothing to do with God-fearing US conservatives, these NB 576 come in three warmly refreshing flavours: English Breakfast, Fresh Peppermint and Earl Grey. Rumours of a scrapped fourth ‘Builder’s’ flavour (milk and six sugars) remain unfounded.
Following on from the preceeding ‘English’ packs (Pub, Lake District and Race Day), a nice cup of tea is just the ticket. Quick pint turned into an all day session? You’ll want a cup of tea to take the edge off that hangover. Conquered Scafell Pike? That Hawkshead Cake will go nicely with a cup of tea. Lost your savings gambling on the gee-gees? A cup of tea won’t get back little Susie’s college fund, but it’ll help you figure out what you’re going to do next.
Constructed in top quality materials by Flimby’s main tea enthusiasts, each shoe is colour matched to its respective flavour. These New Balance packs have set a strong standard for their tongue tags and the tea packaging label motif here is spot on. Rounding out the theme by presenting the spare laces in a string tea bag is a nice touch other releases might have missed.
It feels like they’ve missed a trick by excluding Green Tea but, just like Kit Kat, there’s sure to be a Japanese exclusive of that flavour being enthusiastically consumed by the locals.
The NEW BALANCE 576 MADE IN ENGLAND TEA PACK is scheduled to drop on FRIDAY 9.8.13 and END CLOTHING are marking the occasion with an official launch party the evening before, which you can find out more about via the link-through below. You’ll be able to pick them up online from END at 00:00hrs BST too, and we’ll make sure you’re linked through come the time.
