The NEW BALANCE 3D PRINTED MIDSOLE sees another brand introduce a shoe with the impressive technological update.

3D printing is a technology that has been making huge leaps over the last few years, which has led to NEW BALANCE collaborating with 3D Systems to create a midsole constructed from the newly developed DuraForm Flex TPU. The way the midsole has been created to create the ideal balance of flexibility, strength, weight and durability, by utilising underfoot pressure data from heel strikers, with more cushioning elements in the areas of higher average pressure. The process to create the midsole is called Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), which converts the new powder material into solid cross-sections layer by layer, giving the result a previously unavailable combination of strength, elasticity and light weight, that is ideal for a performance running shoe. The new midsole has been combined with the Fresh Foam Zante upper, which works really well with to create a streamlined silhouette. Could this be the next big thing when it comes to trainers?… With two brands already in on the act it could quite possibly be.

The NEW BALANCE 3D PRINTED MIDSOLE is limited to just 44 pairs, and will launch with the ZANTE GENERATE moniker on FRIDAY 15 APRIL exclusively on NEWBALANCE.COM.
