LE COQ SPORTIF ECLAT PREMIUM PACK PREVIEW

 

2013 had been a massive comeback year for LE COQ SPORTIF, with the French brand bursting back onto the scene with a freshly opened retro running archive – so it seems fitting they’re starting 2014 with a premium triple drop in the form of the ÉCLAT PREMIUM PACK.

The Éclat is a familiar silhouette and a key part of Le Coq’s success over the last 12 months, seeing some strong inline colourways releasing alongside the brilliant ‘Macaron’ edition they put together with Soho’s finest, Footpatrol.  To round out the year in style these three Eclats have deliberately kept it simple, going big on the tonality and focussing on quality materials – all the best French cookery uses fine ingredients!

Steel Grey, Navy Blue and Chestnut Brown are the chosen hues, with each shoe using premium suede in the usual spots, but swapping out the usual mesh application for tonal full-grain leather, complete with deeply embossed logos.  This definitely gives a premium feel, with that buttery full-grain taking the shoe up a notch in the luxe stakes.  Down low the simple theme continues, with the usual foam wedge midsole sitting on a lush speckled gum outsole, which complements all three colours and unites the pack.

Overall this is another strong drop from Le Coq, with the great materials speaking for themselves, and not being overshadowed by a fussy palette or concept – they’ve simply delivered one of their most wearable models in superb winter-friendly makeups.  The only problem we’ve got now is choosing which colourway we need most!
