One of the comforts of living through a frigid winter is thinking about the spring thaw ahead…and planning your wardrobe for the season. Right on cue, Guillaume Philliber and his team in Amsterdam have revealed the upcoming season’s lookbook for the FILLING PIECES SS17 COLLECTION.

The new collection is titled ‘Let Us Create’, which refers to the creative freedom that producing custom-made sole units affords the brand, as it now has the means to create all aspects of the shoe – out with the generic rubber cup-soles, in with proprietary Filling Pieces-designed innovations. Shot on the island of Madagascar, the lookbook showcases the brand’s 2017 warm-weather range in appropriately sunny conditions. The models and the surroundings (90% of the island’s wildlife can be found nowhere else on earth) both speak to the diversity that Filling Pieces strives for with its collections. According to the brand, it ‘…draws so much inspiration from nature and cultures, [Madagascar] was the ideal backdrop for their most creative and diverse collection to date‘. The SS17 collection consists of  600 new styles that consist of 14 new silhouettes and 5 new custom Filling Pieces soles. It will be released in three large drops, the first of which recently launched at select retailers. Take a look and start planning those warm weather looks. And, as the lookbook puts it, ‘Embrace our cultures. Discover real vibes. Based on purity’.
