The ASICS TIGER GEL LYTE EVO NT is an updated edition of the iconic Gel Lyte III, minus one of the original model’s defining features.
Arguably the Gel Lyte III is best known for its split-tongue design, but for this new version, it’s been replaced with a more conventional standard tongue, which is where the NT (new tongue) moniker comes from. As part of the ASICS TIGER EVO line, the ASICS TIGER GEL LYTE EVO NT not only switches out the tongue, but also strips back most of the overlays we are accustomed to. This creates an almost-seamless mesh upper, with no-sew TPU panels to maintain an air of familiarity. The retooling continues on to the sole, with a soft foam midsole punctuated by visible Gel at the heel for a lightweight and comfortable result. The first release is made up of five different colourways – light grey, black/white, red/white, grey/red/black and one similar to the OG Emerald colourway from 1990. All of the midsoles are predominantly white, with some featuring colours and speckling that tie in to the upper, with most rounded off by practical dark outsoles. We’re sure that some people will miss the split-tongue design, but there’s no doubt that this is a great-looking evolution.
The ASICS TIGER GEL LYTE EVO NT is scheduled to drop soon, so keep checking back with us for updates on these are other upcoming ASICS TIGER EVO releases.
