We’ve been following the Primeknit project with enthusiasm over the past year, and the ADIDAS ELEMENT REFINE JS collection uses those same waste-saving and sustainable foundations to bring something new to the table. Keeping with the ‘less is more’ ethos, these two models are also inspired by the aesthetics of origami, creating a foot-wrapping silhouette for efficiency in materials and yet still resulting in a durable piece of footwear.
The ELEMENT REFINE JS – MESH/TRICOT comes in two colourways. We can’t choose between the hot neon green/black option or the more subtle monochrome version, as both shoes compliment the construction and shape perfectly. With a minimal approach to construction, sections of the upper have been carefully folded together for extra strength, while the printed 3-Stripes work perfectly on both lateral and medial sides and keep the weight to a minimum.
The ELEMENT REFINE JS – SUEDE is designed for a cooler environment, giving a little extra substance to the same minimal shape as its counterpart. The printed 3-Stripes are replaced with perforations this time around, while the midsole and outsole utilise a lightweight foam capsule.
Produced in extremely limited quantities, the ADIDAS ELEMENT REFINE JS collection is available exclusively at Icon concept stores No.6 London, No.42 Paris and No.74 Berlin.
