The VAULT BY VANS X OUR LEGACY CLOTHING COLLECTION reinvigorates the uniform of ’90s Californian hardcore fans.

The apparel side of the new collaboration perfectly complements the footwear on offer, continuing the theme of ’90s hardcore and skate nostalgia as seen through a minimal modern lens. Swedish brand Our Legacy are known for putting their own unique spin on classic garments, so instead of a straightforward homage to hardcore band tees we’re treated to something a little more offbeat. The collection comprises coach jackets, hoodies, long sleeve tops and t-shirts, the standard uniform worn by Golden State skaters and hardcore kids from the ’90s to the current day. Each style comes in orange, black and white, and unusually each colourway features different front and back prints from the others. Though the graphic treatments are mixed and matched, they all resonate strongly with West Coast subculture: prints such as ‘Made in California’ and ‘Orange County’ set the scene, while the slogans ‘PMA’ (positive mental attitude) and ‘Use your head’ reference the music of bands like Bad Brains. And while hardcore fans weren’t necessarily known for their love of fine fabrics, these garments are are all made in America to the highest standards to complement the luxe construction of the footwear offering.
