Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER FW16 collection starts with irony from the get-go, naming the collection “Instant Calm” despite the heart motif appearing as a substitute for what I can only assume is a Molotov grenade. The underlying anarchist philosophy is highlighted by juxtaposed renaissance-like imagery of angelic figures, flipping to the subversive. Chain link graphic prints are used through a broad array of this collection, from tees and jackets to a collaborative Porter Yoshida & Co. bag. Bold statements and graphics harness the identity of UNDERCOVER to produce a strong FW16 line-up.
