Jun Takahashi releases dystopian graphic heavy pieces for the UNDERCOVER FALL/WINTER 2nd DROP.
Having made it’s name back in the 1990’s as a bridge between streetwear and high fashion long before the concept was a ubiquitous trend, Japanese imprint Undercover continues to push the boundaries of design whilst maintain a fine balance between artistic integrity and commercial viability. Helmed by enigmatic designer Jun Takahashi, his collections tend to be thought provoking, with a good dose of wearability thrown in for good measure. For the brands’ second drop of Fall/Winter 2017, Takahashi has utilised an avant-garde, graphic heavy aesthetic across a concise selection of pieces including crew sweats, hoodies and a full length hooded parka. The graphics espouse dystopian slogans that tap into narratives of social control and technological advances to provide an analog, deconstructed streetwear aesthetic.
