Forget the dodgy spring weather and get into a Golden State of mind with THE HUNDREDS SUMMER 2017 COLLECTION.
Streetwear stalwart The Hundreds has been inspired by its home state of California ever since the brand’s beginnings back in 2003, when it harnessed the growing power of online #content to pioneer a whole new era of internet hype. Nowadays the approach may seem like standard practice, but when founders Bobby and Ben Hundreds started out it was a genuinely novel approach to build a brand around an online magazine that offered editorial, photography and a sense of community instead of just a clothing line. And unlike many other start-up brands, The Hundreds is still going strong 14 years later with a Summer 2017 collection that’s as bright and laidback as its native state.
Lightweight fabrics and vibrant colours bring a breezy coastal feel, enhanced by nostalgic sportswear influences and graphics that conjure up the glory days of Californian surf and streetwear. A wide range of tops includes the standout colour-blocked ‘Andre’ half-zip top in red, white and blue, alongside jacquard knit baja-style pullover hoodies and brightly-coloured striped tees. A sportier feel comes courtesy of the ‘Era’ mesh basketball jersey and the more technical ‘Spike’ top in moisture-wicking CoolMax fabric. This being the West Coast, there’s a whole load of shorts on offer too including the ‘Shaded’ style, a slouchy pleated take on classic Californian steez. And as always, the collection comes complete with a selection of accessories including dad caps, snapbacks and vintage-style baseball hats. Last but not least, the brand goes back to its roots with a range of graphic t-shirts bearing imagery from retro skate graphics, punk flyers, and vintage travel posters.
THE HUNDREDS SUMMER 2017 COLLECTION is coming very soon to the brand’s retailers, including 5 POINTZ in the UK. Take a look at the new range below, and click on the banners to shop the drop once it goes live…
