While we await the upcoming Palace collection, the brand’s poster boy Blondey McCoy has just dropped his own THAMES AW16 COLLECTION.
Though relatively young, Thames packs a heavyweight pedigree through its roots in the London skate scene and the famous Southbank undercroft where McCoy came up as a teen. Inspired by punk and London nostalgia, a selection of bold and playful prints featuring images of Piccadilly Circus and ’80s pin-ups appear across tees, sweats and hoodies. Logo t-shirts round out the graphic offering, while your lower half is taken care of by a range of overdyed jogger pants with embroidered ripstop cargo pockets. Capping it all off, a Thames twist on the classic denim shirt wears its inspiration on its sleeve (quite literally) with a graphic logo print running down one arm. With its mix of materials, techniques and construction allied with bold use of colour and print, this collection is an impressive step forward for the fledgeling skate brand.
