The STONE ISLAND SHADOW PROJECT SS17 COLLECTION is another masterclass in modern menswear from the minds of ACRONYM and Stone Island.
ACRONYM head honcho Errolson Hugh has been reinterpreting Stone Island’s rich archives with an added futuristic twist for 18 seasons now, combining the best of both brands to create garments reminiscent of relics from a dystopian future. The partnership’s signature utilitarian aesthetic is evident throughout the new SS17 collection, which boasts a full range of apparel complemented by a selection of new footwear styles. The light outerwear pieces work perfectly as standalone items or layering options: popover hooded jackets come in a nylon/cotton blend with drawcord adjustment at hood and hem, while the bomber jackets feature Shadow Projects’ trademark fallout pigment overdye with its beautifully faded colouring. Crepe cotton crewnecks are knitted with open-weave side panels for extra breathability, and the tees and long sleeve tops are embellished with abstract digital prints and side-entry pockets at the chest. For your lower half, a pair of woven track pants combine military and sporting influences with a touch of ‘Sex’-era punk fetishism courtesy of the multiple zips.
