The SEX SKATEBOARDS SS17 COLLECTION is finally here, and it gives precisely zero f-words.
Maintaining the punk mentality of skating’s degenerate dark side (of which he was an OG member), Sex Skateboards head honcho Louis Slater has stayed true to his cause. And this clearly prevails with the brand’s attitude: we’re going to make this, buy it if you want, if it offends you even better!
Firing out of the seedy underbelly of South Yorkshire and into the public eye, Sex Skateboards has grown from a flaccid underground company to the solid throbbing institution it is today, and they’ve only just released their first full collection. It’s their unyielding mentality which is key to their success; Sex Skateboards have never wavered, combining quality garms with a satirical punk finish. The brand aren’t trying to please anyone but themselves and it’s this anti-fad approach that constantly adds to their legitimacy.
The new collection offers much more than we’ve seen previously, with a huge range of products covering everything from outerwear to accessories via shirts, tees, hoodies, shorts, tracksuits and some extremely fruity jeans and denim jackets. The accessories in this range are next level and it’s going to be interesting to see if anyone else will try and mimic these raunchy products (we look forward to seeing fashionistas trying to rock the ‘Sex’-emblazoned smog mask for the street style paparazzi). And don’t expect any Yeezy-esque neutrals here: the colour palette boasts a lurid mix of pink, yellow, neon blue and orange, which somehow work even when they’re thrown together in clashing stripes.
The first new products from the SEX SKATEBOARDS SS17 COLLECTION are AVAILABLE NOW with select retailers. Take a look at some highlights of the new collection below, and shop the range with END. by clicking on the banners…
