RICK OWENS FW17 GOES BACK TO BLACK

RICK OWENS FW17 is online and surprisingly wearable.

The master of the macabre, Rick Owens latest collection is now available and contains a range of signature black items that could quite easily be worn day to day with the fear of being a bit fancy dress. Often considered the father of the modern day ‘fashion goth’, Ricks clothes have always veered on the extremely theatrical side of the menswear spectrum. Be it the super tight blistered leathers or the super long slim tees (which have penetrated into the high St if you think about it) Ricks dark and unwavering vision has usually been challenging to incorporate into a more pedestrian wardrobe. With this offering it’s great to see some items that retain the ‘Rick’ aesthetic whilst being remarkable restrained. The Padded Flight Bomber is an interesting take on the down jacket and some of the jersey pieces could be incorporated into any wardrobe. There’s also the latest slew of Adidas collabs and a strong range of bags and accessories. It’s unclear if this trend will continue but for the time being it’s great to see. Well done rick.
