PLEASURES FW17 – PEEP THE NEW COLLECTION.

The LA based brand PLEASURES FW17 collection has just landed.

We do love a graphic tee over here at The Drop Date, so it is with great interest that we get to see the latest collection from creative director Alex James and his new imprint PLEASURES. Referencing his love for the ’80s and ’90s hardcore Punk scene, tees, sweats and hoods feature bold, punchy graphics that not only echo the music of the time but also the cultural events happening around it.

In a recent interview Alex elaborates that the collection is “more about the circle of life. The progression from birth to after death and everything in-between.” Fitting then, that it’s entitled ‘From The Cradle to the grave’.

We see imagery of Mike Tyson and also the infamous O.J Simpson chase that captivated a nation and was arguably the precursor to the reality TV that is so prevalent today. It’s not all doom and gloom though, the repeated motif of the Sunflower is in Alex’s words “a symbol of joy and happiness. The world is in peril right now; we are trying to create graphics with some positivity.” We could not agree more.
