PAIRED UP: VAULT BY VANS X OUR LEGACY EDITORIAL

 

To kick off our PAIRED UP EDITORIAL series exploring the best footwear and apparel combos out right now, we took to London’s streets to check out the VAULT BY VANS X OUR LEGACY COLLECTION in more detail.

Minimalist Scandinavian design and Californian Hardcore might appear to sit at opposing ends of the style spectrum, yet in typical Our Legacy fashion they have found a way to re-invigorate both sets of aesthetics in their latest collaboration with Vault By Vans. The brand’s founder Jockum Hallin spent his youth immersed in skate and punk sub-culture, and it is this genuine sense of nostalgia that really brings the collection together.

For the first in our Paired Up editorial series, we’ve put some of the key pieces together in a local setting, with the help of photographer Elliot Jones and an old Sex Pistols 7” sleeve from 1977. Focusing on the distinct colour palette, the standout apparel piece for us had to be the emergency orange Coach Jacket. Made in the USA to the highest levels of quality, this faithful silhouette features the ‘Orange County’ back print and is layered perfectly with the oversized style white or black hoody. Paired up with the iconic orange Authentic Pro LX or the white suede and military grade nylon Half-Cab Pro ‘92 LX, this collaboration feels both retrospective and current all at the same time.
