Chucks and duck canvas… Check out the second installment of our ongoing editorial series PAIRED UP: CARHARTT WIP & CONVERSE.

For the sophomore segment of our ongoing editorial series exploring footwear and fashion’s best match ups, Paired Up: Carhartt WIP & Converse puts together two heavyweights of Americana for the perfect pairing. The classic Chuck Taylor has long been a staple footwear choice for discerning disciples of a variety of subcultures spanning all the way from Californian skaters to east coast Ivy Leaguers. Likewise, Carhartt’s traditional Detroit workwear aesthetic has transcended both locality and utility to become a wardrobe essential.

We selected some of our favourite pieces from both brands’ respective Spring Summer ’17 collections to create an editorial that celebrates this classic combination. Focusing on our favourite seasonal colourways of the Chuck 70s and putting them alongside some of Carhartt’s staple workwear and military pieces, photographer Elliot Jones took to London’s streets to capture a collection of images that feels both nostalgic and modern in equal measure; a testament to the timeless quality and durability of both brands’ iconic products.
