Off-White x MATCHESFASHION Digital Exclusive Collection
MATCHESFASHION has teamed up with Virgil Abloh for the OFF-WHITE X MATCHESFASHION DIGITAL EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION.
This is the first in the retailer’s new series of exclusive capsule collections, and they’re off to a very good start with haute couture/streetwear boundary-blurrers Off-White. The brand’s trademark luxury sportswear aesthetic is evident throughout the range, which offers an elevated take on streetwear staples with a bold red, black and dark camouflage colour palette. The familiar diagonal stripes that have blessed a thousand street-style photos make a welcome appearance on tees and hoodies, while simple typography adorns short sleeve shirts and cargo-pocketed track pants. The pinnacle of the collection is a washed camo field jacket with the brand’s diagonal stripes executed in cotton tape. Meanwhile on the slouchier side of things, a pyjama-style shirt comes in a silky fabric reminiscent of something the Sopranos might wear if they were Instagram influencers. And for those who want to represent this exclusive collection from head to toe, a selection of caps and socks are also on offer. Abloh’s vision for the collab was to create a “uniform based on current culture”, and it certainly hits the target. Salute.
