The OFF-WHITE SS18 COLLECTION heats things up with its “TEMPERATURE” and “FIRETAPE” themes, and it’s available now.
Inspired by the novel Farenheit 451, The “TEMPERATURE” range reworks Virgil Abloh’s signature designs with an added political layer courtesy of conceptual artist Jenny Holzer. If you’re not sure about mixing politics and fashion, rest assured that the range is still based around the beloved diagonal stripes and unexpected print placements that grace a billion fashion week street style snaps. But this time round, the garments also feature embroidered embellishments, pharmaceutical references and oversized checkerboard prints, plus an unexpected dose of pop colour.
The “FIRETAPE” collection plays on the familiar Off-White motifs, combining Abloh’s instantly-recognisable crosses and stripes with fire brigade “Do not cross” tape on the back of garments like varsity jackets and jeans. And as if the two SS18 ranges weren’t enough, the new offering also includes the much-hyped Champion collab in the form of sweatpants and oversized baggy shorts. Oh, and there’s a new face mask too…
