Embrace asymmetrical aesthetics with the NikeLab Gyakusou SS17 Collection

The NIKELAB GYAKUSOU SS17 COLLECTION is another triumph of revamped running gear from the mind of Undercover’s Jun Takahashi.

The partnership between the mighty Swoosh and the Gyakusou International Running Association always delivers, and the new range is no exception. Nike’s latest technological innovations combine with Takahashi’s forward-thinking asymmetrical aesthetic for a collection of jackets, tops, tees, pants, accessories and footwear that runs rings around your average sportswear offering. A tight colour palette of bold blue, deep red, black, anthracite and white unites the range, enhanced by a sublimated leaf pattern and a striking diagonal stripe motif that brings to mind the finish line ribbon of a marathon. Reflective details are added for low-light visibility, and Nike’s Dri-FIT and AeroReact technologies are incorporated for superior performance. Highlights include the leaf camo jackets with oversized dual branding prints at the back, Dri-FIT tights with a single diagonal stripe running asymmetrically across both legs, and colour-blocked tees with bold printed branding at the hem.

The footwear offering is less varied than the apparel, but just as impressive. Two styles are available: the NIKELAB GYAKUSOU LUNAREPIC LOW FLYKNIT 2 comes in men’s and women’s versions, while the NIKELAB GYAKUSOU ZOOM STREAK 6 is a unisex model. Both come dipped in the same striking colour palette as the clothing, with plenty of impressive performance features including targeted cushioning and enhanced breathability. The Zoom Streak 6 is a more lightweight marathon runner with Zoom Air cushioning and an optimised outsole lug pattern, while the LunarEpic Low Flyknit 2 offers Lunarlon comfort and an unusual slip-on design.
