The offering for MAHARISHI FW17 has just gone live and it’s another spectacular collection of utilitarian items from the London based brand.
The veteran label is one of the few to maintain a consistent aesthetic since it’s inception back in the mid 90’s, so many have come and gone in that time and it’s almost refreshing to see a brand that sticks to it’s guns and ignores the zeitgeist.
This collection see’s a range of reference the veers from 18th century Japan to the battlefields of the Vietnam war. We can see military ponchos and field jackets paired with Japanese kimonos embellished with traditional illustrations and artworks. renowned for their use of camo, this season MAHARISHI have utilised the DPM: BRITISH HAZE that mimics the texture and inconsistency of hand spray painting in a range of traditional colours that include Desert, woodland and night. The imaginatively shot lookbook reflects outdoor aspect of the collection and sees the garments placed in a staged environment that looks like it could be the icy wastelands of Hoth.
