Post-Soviet trailblazer Gosha Rubchinskiy whipped up a frenzy with his adidas Football collabs, and the latest items from the designer’s AW17 Collection continue to celebrate the beautiful game. As always, Rubchinskiy draws inspiration from Russian youth and subculture, and for this collection he puts a sophisticated sartorial spin on Soviet hooligan vibes.

Hexagonal football patterns appear in the form of bright knitted jumpers (for goalposts?), and an allover print decorates a set of bold black-and-white t-shirts. A set of football scarves mix bright team colours and terrace checks with Russian typography, and you can even get your hands (and feet) on a matching pair of sport socks. A selection of subtler pieces that pay homage to the culture in a less direct way: knits and t-shirts bear vintage-styled Cyrillic lettering, while warm sweaters and turtlenecks come with softer colours and textures.
