Respecting the DIY punk ethos of the OG streetwear days, the CHRISTOPHER SHANNON X SLAM JAM X BUFFALO ZINE ‘HOT MERCH’ collaboration capsule brings us a legit selection of sarcastic logo flips.
Adopting the classic “it take a lot of money to look this cheap” mentality, the series consists of two short-sleeve t-shirts, a long-sleeve top and a tote bag, all of which are produced in a limited edition run and sold exclusively through Slam Jam. Riffing on the familiar logos of your favourite over-sweetened carbonated beverages, the capsule range merges the rarified world of high-end fashion with the logo-appropriating roots of streetwear, while poking a little fun at advertising and mass consumption. But naturally we’re encouraging you to ignore the politics and mass-consume them anyway. The capsule was launched at an event in Slam Jam’s Milan location, attended by a smørgåsbord of noted hype-type personalities and featuring a nicely tacky video (warning: NSFW) to showcase the products.
