AUTUMN READY. - The Drop Date

Jacket season is upon us and with that in mind it’s time to get AUTUMN READY with these pieces of premium outerwear.

Summer is over, it’s sad but true. But with the departure of the sun we can look forward pulling out the big guns for the approaching weather and here at The Drop Date we have put together a series of pieces that will get you through.

Nothing performs in the depths of Winter like a solid down Jacket. Named after a mountain in the Himalayas, the Nupste jacket from The North Face has been a regular feature of the colder months since this version was introduced in 1992. From the slopes of the Alps to the streets of Brooklyn the Nupste has battled the elements and come on top whist others have fallen to the wayside. Featuring 700 goose down inter coupled with a water resistant nylon shell it’s not hard to work out why.

If you live in England (maybe you don’t), from September to May it’s going to rain. A lot. With that in mind you’re going to need a solid, 100% waterproof jacket to see you through. In 2010 Alexander Stutterheim found his granddads old raincoat in a barn and instantly saw the potential to produce a totally water resistant jacket that would not only keep you dry but would also last well into the future. Made from rubberised cotton with double welded seams the Stutterheim rain jackets are the only serious choice when it comes to wet weather protection.

On those lucky winter days when it’s not hammering it down or freezing your face off with snow you can guarantee that it’s blowing a bloody gale. On these blustery days you’re going to need a dependable barrier to protect you but maybe something a little less substantial. This is where the Fleece comes into its own. Light enough not cook you alive but resistant enough to keep you covered, the fleece is the perfect tool. There is also the added option of layering with your rain jacket if the time comes.
