adidas SPEZIAL FW16 Apparel – A First Look

The ADIDAS SPEZIAL FW16 APPAREL COLLECTION brings us another instalment of updated archive garments to complement the footwear.

Launched in 2014, the SPEZIAL project pays homage to some of the most iconic pieces in adidas’ rich history and updates them for modern times. The new apparel collection is based around the Mod Trefoil, a graphic spin on the adidas branding that resonates with football fans worldwide. Inspiration from tennis clothing and leisure wear make an appearance too, resulting in a contemporary collection that manages to be rich in sports nostalgia without ever looking dated. The range consists of jackets, tracksuits, hoodies and sweats, with a sparse colour palette dominated by the signature SPEZIAL shade of navy blue. With athletic apparel now out of the monochrome grasp of the ‘Street Goth’ movement, this is an altogether more versatile and interesting take on premium sportswear.
