This particular collab partnership really has the Midas touch, with demand regularly outstripping supply for each new release. Switching it up from the footwear, this time round we’re treated to a huge collection of apparel for men and women that riffs on the same motifs and colour schemes we’ve seen in previous drops. Pharrell’s focus on “energy and colour” is immediately visible in the bright primary colours and bold prints that are applied liberally to a range of tees, sweats, coach jackets, track tops, pants, bags and hats. Geometric patterns and Japanese katakana characters provide plenty of visual interest, mixed up with classic adidas branding to offer an unfamiliar spin on staple sportswear garments. Pharrell’s aim with this collection is to celebrate the human race in all its diversity – and frankly, that kind of attitude is something we could do with more of in these troubled times…
