NIKE X SIZE AIR MAX 180 URBAN SAFARI PREVIEW

 

The third and final instalment of the NIKE x SIZE URBAN SAFARI collaboration comes in the form of two colourways of the iconic NIKE AIR MAX 180 and is scheduled to drop as a world exclusive both online and in-store with the retailer this Friday 5.7.13.

The pick up on Parts 1 & 2 of the collaboration, consisting of two colourways of the Air Max Light, two of the Toki and another couple of the Roshe Run was immense and we’re sure that Part 3 will be no different. Moving away from the ACG inspired colourways of the first six shoes, the two 180s that round off the project are packed with colour pops that are guaranteed to break necks.

We got our hands on a pair of the White / Total Crimson / Poison Green colourway for a closer look ahead of the drop, and although our initial reaction when we unboxed them was to reach for the sunglasses, the more we look at them, the more they work.

Similar to the Size? exclusive Lunar 180s from a few years back, the upper is a combination of a soft, stretchy, underlay that’s reinforced with a chicken wire style application and is wrapped in the same synthetic overlay as the recent reissue of the original 180 colourway. The top of the heel counter and the lining are a thin ribbed nylon and the back of the shoe is wrapped in a Safari print embossed leather, which gives it the tie-in to the Urban Safari family.

For us, the deal breaker is the speckled midsole, which works really well on the shoe and compliments the white upper and its in-your-face colour pops perfectly. The contrasting black swoosh and tongue piping act to break up the shoe a little and the total crimson branding finishes of the execution brilliantly.

Both the White / Total Crimson / Poison Green & Storm Grey / Poison Green / Hyper Blue / Digital Pink colourways of the NIKE X SIZE AIR MAX 180 URBAN SAFARI will be available from a UK5.5 – 12 (inc. half sizes) both in-store and online from 06:00am BST on Friday 5.7.13.
